Dude! You're engaged! ... Now what?
Seriously congratulations, you managed to convince someone to spend the rest of their life with you! That is no easy task my friend. But ... now what? You got the girl (or guy) and you got the ring, things are off to a great start. But now comes the tough part... the planning. ALL OF THE PLANNING. I'm talking everything from tuxedos to table linens and more than likely you'll be involved in the majority of it so buckle up and put a helmet on sunshine, this isn't for the weak.
2 Things I want to bring up because it is the world we live in now.
2. The average wedding costs (take a deep breath) $26,444 -- see a "fun" chart below.
So it is possible that you've got $25k in tuition debt while embarking on throwing a $25k "let's get hitched party." .... woof.
What makes it even more difficult is that there is no other generation you can consult for this. The Baby Boomers and Gen Xer's didn't pay out their ass for their education -- not to mention that a wedding back in the day consisted of a church ceremony and a reception in the biggest backyard in the neighborhood and Uncle Buck firing up the grille.
We created a Top 5 Things To Expect After You Get Engaged FREE download which you can also download at the end of this blog to help with this issue. We've read this book, seen this movie, we're here to help. Sadly, Uncle Buck is not.
